North Bay Rotaract is proud to invite community members to our First Annual 5K Fun Run.
This “Run for a Cause” will be benefiting the La Trinidad Project in Costa Rica.
The La Trinidad Project is an international economic development project started by Arcata’s Sunrise and Noon Rotary clubs, and they have graciously allowed us to team up with them. The project’s purpose is to raise money to help provide microloans to impoverished women in La Trinidad, Cerro De La Muerte in Costa Rica. Many of the families in this area are solely supported by women. Just a moderate amount of money each month would make a huge impact in their daily lives, such as allowing women to keep their children in school longer. Arcata’s Sunrise and Noon Rotary clubs are also working with the Rotary Club of San Jose Noreste in Costa Rica to bring training and raise funds to help these women improve their lives and the future of their children.
The purpose of North Bay Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service. Our new annual leadership project is organizing this 5K fun run for our local community that benefits international organizations in need.
The Fun Run consists of four interactive stations along the run where people can have some fun before they continue running or walking. Stations include: 1) Color War Station, 2) Zumba Station, 3) So You Think You Can Dunk Station and 4) Accurate Productions Dance Party.
We look forward to hosting this all ages event and encourage runners to dress as crazy as they can. The crazier the better! Accurate Productions, Inc. will also be there to help rile up the runners dance their way to the finish line. There will be prizes at Wildberries Marketplace (where the run starts and ends) graciously donated from local business members.

There will be two separate dates for packet pick up. The first is on Thursday, April 16th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Plaza Grill within the Jacoby Storehouse. The second date is on the actual day of the event, April 18th at 8:00 am. Event Liability Waivers must be signed with packet pick up.
